Engine bay part number?
Could anybody possibly give me the part number(s) for the top engine scuttle cover in the top of this picture?
http://i58.tinypic.com/15zqblv.jpg Opened my the bonnet and was staring at the engine bay for a good minute thinking that something didn't look right. Then realised there the big long plastic cover which runs under the windscreen is missing. Can only conclude that Audi removed it last month when the car went in for a health check so I'll be phoning them right away to see if they have it sitting around. Had a quick look on ETKA but can't see the page that contains this cover. Something like this I'm guessing, although this one is from a D3: http://i58.tinypic.com/102r2he.jpg |
Ollie, I am mystified by your picure in that the brake reservoir is on the left hand side (as seen by the driver) which is the opposite side to mine!! First I thought the picture was reversed but then the V8 4.2 logo is the right way around. So, If we are talking about the same things, the covers for the scuttle area come in two sections and are listed as "Deflector, Water"
Right 4D1 819 404 Left 4D1 819 403 I verified the right side as its easy to take that off - the left side requires a few screws. |
Ah, the picture is just a generic picture of a D2 engine bay from Google! May well be LHD, which mine obviously isn't.
Thanks for the part numbers. Need to try and track down where my cover is now! |

Attached is a parts list which may also help plus some photos of my cowl area.

Perfect, thanks David.
Why would Audi need to remove it to do their once-over health check though? Only other time it could have been removed in the last month or so was when all the front suspension arms were changed (not by Audi). Would it need to be removed for this?? |
