Using VAG-COM v704.1, which is a lot higher than the shareware 4.09 which i have with a generic cable and kind of hints at posibilities...

Anyway at £50 it seems good value and is higher than the basic cables, but is it a genuine one ???

It's not a genuine Vagcom cable
 

but if it does what it says on the tin, it appears to support V704.1.

The latest version (VCDS 805.4) has some additional features but from memory V704 was good enough for everyday use and apparently runs under vista (if you really have to... :rolleyes:)

And given my personal experience, coupled with lots of other peoples experience, not worth the risk. Mine worked about 4 times before it died and you can't let your VAG-COM near the internet while it's in.

You'll end up spending as much on replacements as a proper lead by the time you're done.
