Bose or non Bose ?

Hi
Got question about stereo system.
On picture shown in Red circle, I dont have that wiring in a car, so stereo socket stays empty.
But in my S8 (which I previously had) was all sockets in use.
Does it mean I got non Bose speakers? But it got Bose badges only on rear speakers.
How to check what system I got?

Thanks

Look in the boot for the Bose amp. Same place as the battery but the other side (nearside), usually below floor level. Bloody big thing with fins on, unmistakeable.
I'm sure our sponsors won't mind me using one of their pictures.

Im thing I got it. Its under cd changer?

HPsauce 4th November 2015 07:27 PM

That's usually the location. +++
I don't have Bose (or TV) so I've removed the support bracket and dropped my CD changer down there to free up some hidden storage space.

So does it mean I got Bose system?
And I read somewhere that are Full and Half amlified systems?

Bose is a fully amplified system, the non Bose setup uses the headunit amplifier for the front and back door speakers, and separate smaller amplifiers attached to each rear speaker for the ones on the rear deck.

Also with Bose you do not get tweeters in the back door, only a small mid range in the bottom of the door as it uses the rear deck speakers for the bass. Despite no tweeter in the back door, the sound is still very good whilst sitting in the back.

Indeed it is.

I think it's slightly different to that, at least in D2, in that the rear door speakers are also driven from the amps attached to the parcel shelf speakers.
So it's line-out for the rear and power out to the front, from the head unit non-Bose.

Don't know or I got tweeters at rear doors, but definetly got plastic meshes next to handles.
So when you got non Bose system, you shouldn't have Bose speakers at all?

The tweeter mesh is always there, just nothing behind if it's Bose.
Have a look at the rear parcel shelf speakers, non-Bose have covers in the boot behind which you'll see the amplifier units they have attached.
Bose has the amplifier in the boot as noted earlier, and usually Bose marking on the parcel shelf speakers inside the cabin.
