Identifying CAN wires

The D3 features 4 CAN bus networks, 5 if ACC is installed. The factory wiring for each bus is 0.35 twisted pair and the factory wire colour for each bus is as follows:

Convenience system data bus (100 kbit/s)
Orange / Green - CAN H
Orange / Brown - CAN L

Drive train data bus (500 kbit/s)
Orange / Black - CAN H
Orange / Brown - CAN L

Dash panel insert data bus (500 kbit/s)
Grey / Red - CAN H
Grey / White - CAN L

ACC data bus (500 kbit/s)
Orange / Purple - CAN H
Orange / Brown - CAN L

Diagnosis CAN (500 kbit/s)
Orange / Purple - CAN H
Orange / Brown - CAN L

The Convenience and Drive Train data bus both terminate at a CAN separating connector. There are two CAN separating connectors, right and left. The right and left connectors are then linked across the vehicle with a twisted pair for each data bus, Convenience and Drive Train.

Dash Panel, Diagnostic & ACC data buses are all terminated at the CAN Gateway (module J533). One interesting observation is that the Dash Panel data bus has a spur to the OBD2 Port.

Good info Matt.

Been digging through the diagrams or pulling that loom apart?

I was fed up of referring to the current flow and cross referencing with pinouts as I could never find my hand notes. Hopefully this is useful to someone else +++

Matt, again you have produced some very useful info.
Well done.
Just hope I can remember where to find it when I need it +++
