Battery charge
1 Attachment(s)
Hi all.
I fitted a new battery, Bosch S5 before Christmas. Brother in law suggested it wasn't good as it was 12.7 volts. I said it was equivalent to 100% SoC, having googled it. I then had a low battery warning, he tested it and it was 12.2. So I exchanged the battery at Eurocarparts on Monday. Today, having driven 70+ miles I had VCDS on it to add the Webasto menu to MMI. So I had a look at the battery regulation module. See pic. Is 12.4 low? On the battery there is a Bosch sticker that says 12.4. Should it be higher (12.7-13.2v) or am I missing something? All the best. John. |
Hiya
Looks comparable to data from our new 110Ah battery in our S5 changed about the same time Is there a battery management plug on the -ve terminal that needs disconnecting/reconnecting so it learns the new battery, and was new battery coded when fitted? A |
Cheers Adrian.
I coded the last one. Haven't coded this, but it's a like for like... Should I code it again? |

The serial number needs changing to convince the battery management system that the battery is new.
Instructions attached, in case any steps have been missed, but doesn't appear that the battery management unit needs anything unplugging :) |
Many thanks Adrian. I'll get that done tomorrow

Is there any reason you're using a VCDS version so old as 11.11.3 when the latest release is 15.7.3 ?

Sorry John... Wasn't having a dig.. I was just wondering if the older versions may have had functionality that had been written out of newer versions, that's all. :o
