hybrid tv install problem

Firstly hello all as a newbie,

i hae my self a 2005 A8 3tdi, absolutey lveycar cant fault it, and certainly couldnt part with it now i have had one,

the car came wih analouge tv so after days of browsing the net i bagged myself an audi hybrid tv tuner withpart number 4E0 910 148D

now after i instaled this unit is where the problems start.

when i press the CD/TV butto and then followed by the source button the only option tha comes up is the cd changer, no tv option.

i amlucky enough thave the genuine VCDS cable and have done th programming and coding ect butstill no luck

i have seen that the mmi software is 0900 which i belive is pretty dam old, could this be he problem?

any help at all is greatly accepted

Hi, and welcome.....

The analogue to digital TV tuner really should be a straight swap. No coding, nothing.

I suspect your MMI version is the most likely cause of the issue if the TV option has disappeared completely as I'm assuming the Tuner shows up in VCDS happily, and if it was majorly failed it would bring down the MOST loop and stop everything working when you swapped it in....

I'm on a mission to get folk to update their signatures at the moment with their car details, makes it much easier to help people as you don't have to explain every time exactly what car you've got +++

So Photos of car is a must, and so is a signature update +++

The Phone module update on disc 2 has been known to brick some units, rarely though.

I personally rarely bother with disc 2 and 3 if I'm just wanting to get the base MMI updated....

Have a search around on here, you should find quite a bit of info on it.

Yes, but buy it from TPS as it'll be cheaper. +++

Thought it was a 3 Disc set ?

Would defo go original from TPS - Some bricked units have been blamed on badly burnt copies....

anyone have a specific part number for tps as the guys in my local branch really are thick as they claim its £200+ for the update discs
