Lambda Sensor

Okay they are well and truly gone. Its annoying because I had just booked a pro detail for the S8 this month, with the money spent on new wheels and with it needing a service I am going to have to cancel it and spend the money on the Lambadas instead, how boring! :( Do these effect performance in any way?

I have Done a Vag Com test and they were reading - 7 something. It reckons one of them is completely dead. Where are these located. Easy to replace or not? Will get some on order Monday, better to buy from A8 Parts or new?

Thanks in advance +++

You should have 4 on your car Amar. 2 in front of the Cats and 2 behind. I'm surprised they are toast as they do effect mixture control and therefore emissions. Having just past your MOT there are no emission problems so I doubt all 4 have gone. One maybe.

Jobs not to difficult. You may want to run over to Bens and have him do a full diagnostic.

Thanks for your help Mike, I just drove back from work now and the car drove like a pig. First off was a problem with the Xenons (Will start separate thread) then my mate from work in his Citroen AX put his hand out of the window to tell me to overtake so he could hear and see the beast move. So I went to overtake and nothing, it felt like a NA 1.8 engine under the bonnet. No misfiring, no glitches from the gearbox no engine light just no power! Worried I went home and got VAG COM on it and it shows that two lambadas are faulty and no other problems with the engine.

Here are the results if anyone can help:

Just realised I have a lambda sensor in my garage I brought for my old A8, turned out it didn't need one in the end. That was a 97 4.2 ABZ, will it fit the S8? Also which side of the engine is bank 1/2?
ooh and please could a mod move this to the D2 section!
Thanks

Bank 1 is driver's side and bank 2 is passenger side on a RHD car.

Need to change a second lambda on my car, put it on a mates ramp and can loosen it, but where does the actual connector go to? It sort of disappears into the chassis. Does anyone know how I would go about this? :Confused:

So nobody knows!? The Lambda was intermittent but has now completely failed, stangley Cars running fine. I have booked it in with MRC for a new lambda/health check. Sorry Ben, its just I'm really busy next week and MRC are 20 mins down the road. Plan is to get anything that needs doing done so lets hope it passes the health check.
