Odd Boot Problem
 

Hi All,

Today's fresh issue is the boot.

When I use the remote or door button to open it, the motor lifts the lid but it seems the latch won't release. The motor lifts and then times out when the trunk wont unlatch.

If I use the boot button, it works perfectly, Just not remotely.
Now, the boot lift motor is the current metal one and its very healthy (221nm)
It seems like the usual clunk of the latch motor isn't happening.

I also have a relay fitted that uses the latch motor signal to remotely close the boot from the remote or door button. And that clunk noise happens when the lid is open. So I am at a loss.

I love the power boot so I am keen to restore this function. Any advice?

There are spring loaded stops that you fit instead of the OEM ones.
Don't have the part number to hand but I'm sure someone will pop up with it. I'll try and find out where I got mine from when I'm at home.

I tried winding out the bump stops instead. That seems to have worked.

I have replaced all 3 motors for the boot, so it is annoying it was having issues.
