S8 Mirror Stonechips
 

My S8 mirror caps have some stonechips in them. What can I do about it?

Replacement mirror caps are difficult to find with the lane assist LEDs, so I'm trying to repair the ones I have.

Do Audi make a touch up pen for the mirrors? Is it possible to have them resprayed?

Does anyone else have this problem and how have you fixed it?

They can be removed from the vehicle and repainted

Thanks very much... I've never seen a satin car spray before.

I might roll it together with another couple of small jobs and get them all done together.

Are they not solid aluminium, like they are on the D2 S8?

They look painted to me, although I may be wrong because my car has been in with Audi for so long, I can't remember!

They seem like painted plastic, definitely not aluminium on the D3.

Wrapping them wouldn't be easy but it's an option as it's only a satin silver colour...
