And no, it isn't because I'm driving below the speed limit.
Hit the magical 200,000 miles last night. Still drives great. Tempting fate but it feels like it is just run in.

Congratulations!

It's definitely not the reason to cry, so well done to both of you.
You for keeping her running and maintained, her for being a good girl and driving well +++
Congratulations

Congratulations, that's some landmark!

Regular Oil changes and it will do as much again.

Excellent stuff. Good on the old girl. I'm planning to take mine to similar miles too. 127k and counting

BLAKEY 18th September 2016 05:03 PM

Congratulations! Not only for the milage but for the skill in being able to take in focus photos with one hand whilst doing 65 Mph. +++

There is still such stigma about high mileage cars in this country, like we are still driving around in Vivas, Beatles or Princesses etc (no offence!) I had a Beatle. 1300A, still not sure if I loved or hated it!

Once you get anywhere near 100k prices just plummet, great perhaps if you are a buyer but not so much if you're the owner who maintains a car like it's their child!

Congratulations on hitting 200, my wife's 55' Galaxy is on 179 so not quite there! As others have said, regular maintenance is the key.

Yeah that magical 100K mark is so weird. I don't get the stigma. My S8 is on 113K which for me is low mileage - my A6 made it to 360K and my current A4 is on 280K!

When my housemate bought her TT with 140K several people commented on the 'high' mileage. What do they expect for a 14 year old car? It will be nicer and faster and better in every way than their brand new soulless ****boxes until the day it dies.

I've never got the stigma associated with high mileage either. I would much rather own a well maintained car with 100K+ than an older low mileage car which may have missed work along the way and most likely just driven to the shops and back.

I bought my previous A8 D2 with in excess of 170K miles on it, sold it at 191K. Sadly one of the seals on the steering rack went with the next owner at 199K.

My current cars, the D3 is on 154K miles whilst the Volvo is now on 168K miles, both feel remarkably good and drive well.
