Start button / pre-glow
 

Concerning 2006 3,0tdi.. Does anybody know a way to get automatic glow period before the engine cranks, with only one push of the start button ?

Having to press the button twice in three seconds annoys me, even more when I know that other VAG cars (like the Touareg) from the same period do exactly what I want.. Hold the brake, push the start button, and then ignition, pre-glow and engine start is automatic...

Don't know how to do it on the D3, but the D4 does it as standard fortunately... +++

I don't think it's possible. The original design used ceramic glowplugs that heated so fast that no pre-glow was needed, glow during crank was enough but sadly the glowplugs disintegrated in use or during removal so were ditched for slower metal ones.
