Hello all

For the last couple of days the N/S rear is a lot lower than the rest of the car if parked for longer than an hour. So much so the O/S front arch is quite high on the wheel.

When the car is running, all returns to normal, I have checked all height options including Lift and it takes the car to full height and back.

So...... A leaky joint or bag somewhere, is this a known fault? Not sure the gradual droop points towards a sensor fault in this case.

Either way I'm pleased to see the compressor is fine and the overall system integrity appears ok. There is no groaning, hissing or over activity from the compressor, not that I can notice anyway.

Yep, quite a common fault. I bet 90% of D3's will suffer from this as they become older now. More than likely there will be a tiny pin hole in one of the rear bags. Perform a soap test, in lift mode, to identify if this is your problem.

Tevgeniy from the Russian forum did a diy fix on the air suspension. The photos are useful so you know what is involved. A new or remanufactured unit is probably the way to go.

Put the car to full height , then activate jacking mode .........do not lock the car just leave it and see if it drops at all .

Ok, so done that, thanks for the advice.
Yes the rear drops. More on the N/S but both sides do lower.
Not fully though, it doesn't drop onto the stops.

It's most likely the air legs , it's the exposed rolled edge of the bag the tends to perish and weep , taking the car to full height exposes a different area and in some cases it either stops them from sagging or greatly increases how long it takes to sag .
You can try spraying soapy at them but in sure they have a ally shield around them so it's difficult to get them and ideally you need to be on a drive on ramp to get at it .
I do lots of range rovers , Discoverys and that ....it's mostly the bags but have seen the feed pipe to the leg chaffed through or the corner valve leaking air back to the resvoir .

Yep, I had a Disco 2 and had the same problem. I had to replace both of the air shocks.
I am assuming I need to crack on and get this done in case I over work the compressor? I don't imagine this is going to be cheap, just what I needed in December!
