The old girl is hot!

MOT and service done last week.

Driving today the old temp gauge was going up and up and up!

Damn!

A small coolant leak, top hose warm for the radiator but car engine does not seem that hot. Cannot really check the bottom radiator hose and there is plenty of lovely pink coolant in the system.

I suspect water pump or Thermostat, it will be done of course just bloody annoying! Though if it is either of those may as well do the cambelt etc all at once.

VAGCOM confirms the reading from the sensor.

M-A8's A8 looks tempting right now as I do really need a third car ;)

If only a cambelt service was £300 like it just was on the A2 this week!

Yup - had the same issue a couple of months back. Ended up having thermostat replaced and cambelt/water pump done. Oh well, it's only money ;)

Service MOT and some suspension bushes coming up next month. Ho hum.

Yeah but then I look at the car and drive it and realise how special it still is.

Plus being a D2 S8 its my duty to keep such an important car perfect and one the road.

Well said that man! I have just done the lower control arms, tie rod ends, F125 switch, had a 4 wheel alignment, bought new front discs and pads but realise that the calipers really need a refurb (approx£450) before I fit the discs/pads and I'll be topping aound £1k in the run up to xmas. Guess what Santa's bringing me? - feck all! That is, apart from the feel good factor of a car thats so good just to go and sit in! (which is all I'll be able to afford :-( )

I still miss my D2 sports seats. Best car seats I have ever been in, ever.

That's how I see it too.

I did have to do a sanity check a few months ago (which I clearly failed) before spending 3.5K on having the transmission refurbed, especially since I'd already spent a small fortune on a major service and other parts. I think I've probably spent the best part of 10K on the car this year alone!

Well, you're the winner so far Mark!
Just think what £10k would buy in terms of a car ...or, on second thoughts, dont.

I know.

My mechanic tells me he thinks I need my head examining. I think he may be right!
