Some of my red lights don't work

Hi

Having recently bought my first A8 D2 FL 2.8 QS I've just noticed that some of the red illuminated controls/buttons don't actually illuminate.

The red illumination in the heater unit works (but not the illumination in the heated seat switches).
The red illumination in the doors - open handle, electric window switches etc. - they work.
The lights in the ash tray and inside the armrests work too.

However buttons on the RNS-D, the switches above that e.g. the ESP, fog lights etc. or the legends next to the air vents - they just don't illuminate.

I am hoping/assuming that this is just a fuse issue rather than a fault or the fact that the previous owner never plugged something back in after faffing with something behind the dash.
Unfortunately, I don't have the handbook to shed any more light on this (no pun intended). The handbook is being sent to me.
I did a search and found a diagram of the fuse box on the forum, but before I go and start pulling fuses out willy-nilly, has anyone experienced this before and can, therefore, offer some advice for an effective solution?

Thanks in advance
Dean

Poor earth? Have a look at the G43 ground connection (above right kick panel) - it seems to include a number of those items. Maybe the cct diagram attached can help?

Thanks David!

That's definitely pointing me in the right direction for some detective work tomorrow.

Page 30 > Interior Lights > Fig. 30 > G43 (ABOVE RIGHT KICK PANEL)

I'm not an expert at wire diagrams but I can see that the some of the lights I'm referring to (I haven't checked them all) have the G43 ground in common.

I'll report back after I've solved the issue and electrocuted myself.

Cheers!
Dean
