RIP Carrie Fisher

I just heard that it's been confirmed that Carrie Fisher, Princess Leia herself, has died. She was aged only 60 and is survived by her mother Debbie Reynolds and her daughter Billie Lourd.

RIP Carrie, you'll be missed.

I remember watching Star Wars Episode III and ***SPOILER ALERT*** scoffing at the end when it's said that Padme simply lost the will to live, having felt like she'd lost Anakin. The notion of dying of a broken heart seemed ludicrous to me.

How life has imitated art in this case, where Leia's mother in real life has passed, seemingly from a broken heart.

2016 has been a tough year.

Same thing with Leonard Cohen, he lost his Muse and died of a broken heart

This is what he wrote to her:

"Well Marianne, it’s come to this time when we are really so old and our bodies are falling apart and I think I will follow you very soon. Know that I am so close behind you that if you stretch out your hand, I think you can reach mine. And you know that I’ve always loved you for your beauty and your wisdom, but I don’t need to say anything more about that because you know all about that. But now, I just want to wish you a very good journey. Goodbye old friend. Endless love, see you down the road."

He died 3 months after writing her this letter, she died of cancer.

What a terrible year for deaths

20 car pile up on the M40 the other day as well, its not just the known, roll on 2017

The personnel toll goes on as well.
Had news yesterday that one of my old Army buddies has passed.
I've lost five close Army colleagues this year.
