Cluster Differences
 

I've noticed a couple of differences between the A8 clusters recently and I'm wondering if its coding or firmware.

Not counting the widescreen, S8s, or petrol differences below are the ones I've noticed.

Cruise control symbol in the DIS on widescreen models.
Light symbol for when the lights are on below DIS.
Needle sweep.

Needle sweep is firmware/hardware difference I think. I'm not sure on the others.

One will be the ACC vs Normal Cruise clusters.

Car doesn't have ACC.

Mine is a facelift with ACC so has wide display as well as needle sweep but the only indication I get when the headlights are on is the green light on the actual headlight control dial my your right knee.

My first A8 (05 plate) was proper poverty spec, had the narrow display and I did get an indication under the DIS when headlights were on (non Auto).

Had an 04 plate for a couple of weeks too which had a wide DIS and I don't remember getting a green headlight symbol come up when the headlights came on in that (Auto lights).

Could be an auto and non auto light that puts the green light on the cluster.

I got a non-acc widescreen cluster.
No dis display for CC or lights on light.

I've got manual lights and ACC with widescreen DIS and get a green light symbol below the DIS when the headlights are on, 2004 by the way.
