Fault code - Lambda
Just done a vagcom scan no EML light yet...... but does anyone know the part number for one of these and best place to get one ordered? also is it easy to fit? :(
17539 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor: B2 S1: Internal Resistance too High P1131-35-10 Just looking on ebay if anyone can point me to the part? or website with the part? - i be most grateful! for the car that keeps on giving... +++ |
I recommend the NTK (NGK) sensor as a direct fit replacement. Part number NTK25588.
I was about to warn you off Bosch as the part they list for the D2 (V8) - Bosch part# 16132 - has the wrong plug (and they expected you to replace the loom plug with a spare receptacle in the box (cheeky buggers!)). However, I just found this: http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-Volkswagen-Oxygen-Sensor-BOSCH-0258003842-13842-NEW-OEM-VW-O2 So maybe they've learned the errors of their ways... Or its just NOS from a German specialist! Some blokes like the Bosch universals. They have some nifty self sealing plugs these days. I'm still not a convert! |
Thanks for the top tip Marty
Have it booked in at the end of the month, have passed on the information +++ |
It's very DIYable.
Access is a little restricted with hoses and wires in the way, but you can get to both sensors with a crows foot type sensor socket and a very long socket extension (I coupled my long and medium extensions) up to a ratchet. It's fiddly, but doable. |
As long as it comes out OK, it's a "challenging" area down there....
When my N/S cat was replaced the garage just couldn't get the lambda sensor out, so had to buy me a new one. Eventually they succeeded once it was all off the car, but it was irreparably damaged by then. (Just wanted it out to send the old cat back to recover the exchange value.) |
That sounds like the rear O2's - they're a pain in the butt by all accounts (haven't done mine).
I also don't generally deal with the sort of rust issues England gets which can seize items like O2 sensors in place! |

My B2S1 also throws the same error that RS6 has, but it is intermittent, so keep putting off replacing it. Maybe now would be a good time if anyone has any suggestions on where best to purchase from (apart from the US). |
