Scan faults
 

I have just done my first scan with my new obdeleven, first scan had quite a few codes ( nothing engine or gearbox related ) so I cleared then and went for a drive.
The only ones that come back are

Control module incorrectly coded 01044 gateway module
( not sure what this does )

Touch sensor short to ground drivers door and rear left
( strange thing is it's the passenger door that's paying up these two work fine )

Left footwell heater no signal
( would this be knackered or could it be a loose plug ? )

Wrong options selected in Gateway

Normal on old 8's and will cause battery drain

Left footwell heater no signal
( would this be knackered or could it be a loose plug ? )

Every car will suffer this, both mine are dead

How can i fix the gateway ?

Its not really an issue that needs fixing but if you want to get rid of the fault you need to match the coding to the options fitted to the car.

In vcds its a matter of checking option boxes but in your case i dont know

The CAN Gateway performs a [sort of] similar function in your car that a Gateway does on a computer network. It acts as a 'starting point' for comms between the devices.

It has a list of possible devices [including media devices on the optical MOST bus] and it's supposed to be set up to match the devices installed.

With VCDS you can see the list and which ones are selected; then you check what you've got and make sure the list matches:)

On my car I started getting Gateway error messages like yours when my telephone ECU failed; the Gateway thought it didn't have one so it generated the mismatch DTC.

Delboy's guessing you haven't got that function in OBDEleven ...

Easy enough to code on OBDEleven - go to the faulty module and select coding.
It will allow you to enter a new code. If the car accepts it then there's nothing else needed.
You'll probably have to disconnect and reconnect the OBDEleven module from the OBD port and re-scan to show the new coding. I have to do that on the D2

I don't think you'll be able to find the correct code without some sort of coding helper. It's 14 length HEX value and there's no documentation how this is constructed. Even in VCDS the Gateway label file is encrypted to protect their knowledge.

Sounds like its beyond my computer programming skills. I struggled to code my wifes a3 dis on Saturday and still cant display outside temperature on it😕

I was quite proud when i finally got the dis and new steering buttons to work 😊
