Door and footwell lights not working

S8 D2 2000
DIS shows that all the doors are open if i open the driver door.
Door lights and footwell lights doesnīt work either.

Any ideas what is wrong?

In the trunk there is a black box on the right side under the fuses. What is that?
Some earlyer owner has disconnect one of two positive wires from that box. Is there some reason why he had done that?

Do you mean like the following photo:

If so, that is the electrics for the heated windscreen. You can ignore the red wire at the extreme left of the photo. That was the power for the rear blind I fitted.

Yes. Thatīs the same box.
I quess that someone has replace the windscreen as normal one and "delete" the heating system.

Any ideas with the lights?

My guess would be either the 'Entry and footwell lighting relay (J348)', or the fuse that supplies it with a positive feed.

See this pdf:

... especially pages 38, 39, 452, 457.

If there's no positive supply to the bulbs to keep the voltage to the DIS 'pulled up', activating one door switch (which appears to pull one DIS input to ground) is possibly pulling all the DIS inputs to ground through the bulbs (via the 'floating' positive connection).
