boot lights

these come on when you open the boot
how long should they stay on if the boot stay's open ?

Pretty sure they time out "eventually"; I think it's several minutes though, maybe up to 20?

Well, if you consider this a quantum mechanics question then the boot lights will be in both states (on and off) when the boot is shut and only when observed by you when opening the boot will they be on. According to a chap called schrodinger you could try this with a cat but I think I'm getting out of my depth here.....
