So, the time has come to bid farewell to my Milltek exhaust. It's taken me some time because I've actually grown quite fond of it, but it I'm an OEM guy at heart, so I had one last play in a tunnel and asked them to remove it.
In case you don't know the story, I bought my car last year and it already had the Milltek fitted and, as epic as it sounds, it's just not for me. It's the non-resonated (louder) version and has a deep tone but is designed well enough that it shuts up completely at motorway speeds so on long journeys you wouldn't know it's not a standard exhaust. Cold starts are enough to send shivers down your spine in a very, very good way - those I'll miss the most. :o
Looking at the exhaust, it doesn't look to me like it's been on the car very long - it looks too new for that. All the parts have little plaques bearing the Milltek brand and part/serial numbers, which are all still intact and clearly visible. I'd guess it's been on the car for two or three years. It looks in great condition and is unmarked except for one approx 3mm triangular mark on one of the tailpipes. It's invisible unless you're within a foot of the tailpipe. It's for an S8, but I understand it also fits other models.
My car is at VAGTech in Milton Keynes at the moment having a carbon clean and some other work done. I expect it to be there until somewhere around 20th April. If you can make it there while my car is still there, I'll cover the cost of VAGTech fitting it to your car. VAGTech are a small, family-owned business and their tech is ex-Audi. They impressed me enough for me to leave my pride and joy with them, so you'll be in safe hands.
The cheapest one I could find online is £1276. I'm asking £575 for mine, and that's including professional installation by an Audi specialist.
If you'd rather have it fitted yourself, or are too far to make it to Milton Keynes, VAGTech have offered to label the parts and separate them for me, to make reassembly easier. I have to be honest, I can't imagine how I'd pack and ship it, so I'd really rather sell it fitted or collected.
I've added a couple of (pre-cleaning) pics below. My apologies, I should have taken some from under the car. I'm due to be dropping some parts off at VAGTech when they arrive from Audi. When I get there, I'll try and get under the car to take some more.
Any questions, just ask. :)
