Hybrid tuner not picking up signals?
Hello ladies and gentlemen,
For some while now (possibly since my upgrade to 5570) my hybrid TV tuner has not picked up any signals and just shows a fuzzy grey on the display. The search up and down does not find any channels. I have run VCDS which shows no faults and has coding of 0000003 in address 57. I have checked the antenna leads into the unit in the boot as well as the other cables. It used to work fine. I could sit in Heathrow waiting to collect my daughter and pick up BBC2 or ITV with excellent signal. However, not used much and may have done 5570 upgrade since then, not sure. 3 requests of the experts out there please: 1. Does anyone know the VCDS security code for module 57 (TV) ? 2. Could some kind person with a D3 using a hybrid TV tuner please check module 57 and see what their coding shows (compared with my 0000003) 3. Any other suggestions for what might be wrong and how I might trouble shoot it? Thanks in advance for any help Richardracer. |
Heres my coding
Address 57: TV Tuner Labels: None Part No SW: 4E0 910 148 E HW: 4E0 919 148 Component: R0078 TVhybridT 0470 Revision: R0H06000 Serial number: 76300800385702 Coding: 0000001 Shop #: WSC 02313 785 00200 VCID: 2545F5A79721 No fault code found. The tuner also displays diagnistic info, incuding signal strength, on the tv display if you have it on when you open the TV module in VCDS which may provide some hints |
Hybrid tuner not picking up signals?
Hi Somerandomguy,
Thanks for your coding info. I will give it a try tomorrow. Do you have the VCDS security code to update that code by any chance, hovering in that module does not reveal security code like some other places. Regards Richard |
No, sorry, no idea what the security code is

EDIT, this is wrong see my later post -I bought my TV from an Audi S4 and the coding was for different antennas, after researching, I concluded 101 was for our cars with 4 diversity antennas.

To vcds codes
Hi Snapdragon,
Thanks for your advice. Do you have the security code which allows me to change the coding? Thanks Richard |

I have saved a number of logs from A8s and none of them seem to have Coding as 0000101 for the Hybrid or Analogue TV. [That code implies an A6 Avant or a Q7 receiving Central European TV signals]. Most are 0000003, which my [analogue] one has too. This is the format of the ECU coding: Coding is 000abcc [corrected 15th June - thanks for the 'reminder' Ray!] a - RSE - 0=no RSE or Inactive RSE, 1=Active RSE [Rear Seat Entertainment] b - Aerial type - 0=A6 Saloon/A8 1=A6 Avant/Q7 c - Country - 03=UK/IRL PAL I : 01=Central Europe PAL B/G Julian |
