Unsure of the name for it
Sorry but I am unsure for the name of this seal.
It is where the driveshaft bolts into the gearbox with the multi-spline bolts ATF is leaking from there, I have bought what I think is the right seal from audi to replace the leaking one. I am just wondering how to replace the seal? As soon as I take the driveshaft out is the ATF just going to flow freely from the box? |

sorry its for the front drive shaft going to my drivers side front wheel
will it just be the same as a rear out flange seal. i'll go take a picture of it just now! show you what i mean |
You could try erwin, register (it's free) pay your 4 euros and input your shassis number and the whole process will be available to you.
My ELSAWin is plaing up again! Must get the latest version. |

Isn't that the front driveshaft?
|
Yeah it is, will ATF pour out when I remove the driveshaft?
|
nope its gear oil in there not ATF
|
will it pour out? how do i go about changing the seal?
|
with the cv removed u should be able to remove the center bolt and pull the cup out, a bit of fluid will come out but not loads, then just prise the seal out and press the new one in, then near it there should be a 17mm internal hex fill point to top it back up at
