air suspension motor

Is it normal for the motor to make pressure noise when i am about to stop at traffic for example? it does then stop when I come to standstill. Is this a sign of leak or anything? There are no warnings etc and the suspension does drop and rise as usual.
Thanks

How does the car sit after a few days parked up?

It sits fine and no slouching

That's good.

I wonder if the car is levelling itself due to the road camber? I do notice mine levelling while at lights but don't hear the compressor motor.

there is a reservoir for each air spring plus a system tank at the rear on the nearside which the air compressor keeps charged occasionally so often smaller levelling actions are carried out without any use of the pump

the noise comes from the engine compartment near the front passenger area

Try recording the noise, but compressor shouldn't be audible when you have doors closed and engine running.
My previous D3 was doing that as well, self levelling, usually when stopped at the traffic lights, but not every time.
