Multi Car insurance renewal ....
Just thought I'd chuck this in for info....
In Jan we had the multi car renewal through from Admiral. It came through at £903 for 3 cars....my wife's A6 Allroad (2009), my 2005 A8 and my recently purchased 2004 BMW 645 (please forgive me!). Anyhoo......the policy prices were within £15 of each other, my wife's being the cheapest (I'm 49 and the missus is 46). I thought the renewal wasn't too bad but thought I'd call Admiral and see if I could reduce it a tad (well, I am a northerner after all). After about 20 mins chatting and going though circumstances and to be honest making virtually no changes......£903 became just over £600! Result! Then, I was informed that if I agreed to switch home ins to them when it's due in Aug, the policy price would be further reduced. Final result- approx £550 for all 3 cars! Needless to say, I was over the moon. Once again, sorry to have gone to the darkside.......with the Beemer......but it is a V8 after all 😀 |
Admiral are like that - the best of the lots when it comes to haggling (or, conversely, the worst at trying it on in the first place :tuttut: ) . I was with them for years when we had 4 or 5 cars in the family, and I only moved away when they starting hiking the premium on the Tesla (which they're not alone in doing...). I think my S8 is still insured with them, but solo, for c.£200.

£200 to insure an S8! That's incredible!
How old are you.......103? |

Never accept a renewal from any company, always call and haggle. Definitely do this every year and it WILL save you money

I ended up going with LV multicar. It was staggeringly cheap compared to the others, handled modified cars, business cover etc with ease.
Really great customer service too. Cannot fault them..... |
£200 would be a dream for me. I blame the Greater London post code “tax” for mine.
I think mine is about £450 on a limited mileage policy. Interestingly the quote reduced by £200 with the modifications declared  I may look to do a multi car policy with the wife’s smart car and see if that’s any good. Will see Admiral and LV +++ |
Never really found any Multi-Car policy to be competitive, I just shop around each year and works out well, Currently with Direct Line, cost me around £200, with 6 points and a decent fine for speeding for me, and three points for wife +++
