Lots of surprisingly accurate observations, apart from this very confusing one:

I was reading this on the train into work today. Also picked up on the D3 reference to the MMI display!

it is a lovely car to own though, just need to sort out the clicking HVAC motors! :mad:

O/T but have you tried running basic settings on the motors? Can resolve a number of problems....

Thanks, I may have done it before but will try again sometime and see if it helps. Not such a problem in the colder weather.
