Final Edition S8's
What makes an S8 a 'Final Edition'?
i saw this one posted on tyresmoke; http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1502378.htm and Sighn pointed out that its got a very average spec; I had always assumed they where all fully loaded. What do you get over a standard S8, are the alloys standard on all final editions, and when did they start making the 'final editions'? |
Read all about it here:
http://www.tyresmoke.net/forum/audi-...l-edition.html In summary, the final edition is far from fully loaded. It represents a FIXED SPECIFICATION car, so in reality, the fractionally older 02 plate cars tend to be a far higher spec and more desirable in my opinion.... |

Cool, cheers! that clears that up then.
Mines a Feb 2002 registered car, and as you say it got tons more spec than the final editions look to have. Just need to find a set of those 20" 9 spokes! |

Stop it, the lot of you! :D
Cramped? No, surprisingly almost as spacious as the 8. Bumpy? A much firmer ride than the 8, but not uncomfortably so. It has Billstein PSS9s, which are fully adjustable so it could be softened up if necessary. Fast? Hmmm...yea, slightly ;) Thirsty? No worse than the 8 so far. In fact, the previous owner said he'd never reset the average MPG and after 4 years it was showing 20.8  Do I miss the S8? Hell yea! :-( |
