Somewhat ironically, the 'change' to the VW logo came about as a result of Dieselgate, and the 'board' wanting to distance itself. How they figure that would happen by changing to a dull 2-D logo is beyond me.

As to the two Audi logos hinted at in the linked article, what were they smoking when they came up with those two designs? Was someone waxing lyrical about their days at college in the Biology class, studying cell mitosis... and again, a 2-D design. Those are going to look ugly on a car.

Maybe the bean counters are going to insist that they screen print the new logos on the boot and bonnet!

They only did a refresh on the Audi logo about 4 years ago anyway, when the new "Audi" lettering switched to a squarer font and they flattened the face and thinned the rings a bit too.

Changing a logo, does not change a company, unless it's attitudes change with it.
I've seen degrading VW in the last few years with its attitude to customer service and it's own history.
So much for they're goal of becoming the world's #1 car maker - that's about when the rot set in.

The phrase “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” springs to mind. None of these is an improvement IMHO, but the VW one is rubbish!
