Audi A/S8 tow hooks

Hi everyone.

Does any of you lot have tow hooks on your 8s?

If you do are they removable? Once removed can anything still be seen? I really dont want to ruin the look of the 8s fine looking rear end! Did the bumper have to be cut at all?

If you do have one, and/or have a picture or a D2 8 with one can you please post it up here for me to see how they look and fit and also if you dont mind also posting how much you paid, the company you got it from and the make i would REALLY REALLY appreciate it!

Thanks one and all!

Mine had the factory tow kit... You could see the connector for the wiring plug, but that was it. No difference to the bumper at all.

I fitted the one on mine and because i'm tight i found a kit for 90 notes. It's a non removable swan neck type, and i did have to cut the bumper but not a lot really. I made the slot in the underside of the bumper slightly wider than i had to so i can pass a pair of spanners up there to remove the non removable swan neck.

The electric connection is hidden so it can't be seen.

I've never taken the swan neck off to see what it looks like might well do that on friday for the photo's

Removable swan neck type was £395 although there seems to be a price drop on towbars at the moment.

Like i said i found one for £95 brand new for a company that i can't remember the name of but i do have the invoice for it at home.

I'll post some photo's when i'm home Friday.

The only thing I found with my factory job was that the 'v' shaped bits on the side of the removable bit had developed a little bit of rust, so it wouldn't seat itself home properly. A bit of work with a flate blade screwdriver (a convenient one in the toolkit, I was away camping at the time) and then it went in OK, but you definitely need to make sure it clicks into place, otherwise it's bye-bye trailer time.
