Audi S8 D2 Cam Cover Bolts

Morning All,

I am not near the car at the moment but plan to do the Cam Cover Gaskets in the near future on the old girl.

Could anyone confirm the bolts/ part/ size as I would always like to have a few spares for this.

Car is a 2002 D2 S8 so an AVP lump.

077103831C. They are special T30s with an integral collar to fit the gasket, and are quite expensive.

A bit of advice on these. As MJ mentions, they come with a metal collar and gasket, and with the cam cover gasket in place, they don't come out fully when undone. When you remove the cover, if part of the gasket detaches from the cover, the bolts are then free to fall out. Make sure you're not working on a gravel driveway (don't ask!)

Too right. £7 each from Audi. I 'lost' two and only noticed after cleaning up the covers and putting them back together again. Ordered them from Audi, went for my one hour walk, thinking about how I lost them, got home, stood by the car and thought about how I removed the cover. Looked down on the ground and literally one was about 18" in front of me and the other was between my feet. Called Audi to cancel, but he said he couldn't and he had put the order in. They're still sitting here in the unopened envelope.
