TPMS code out?
Can I code out the tyre pressure monitoring system on my Audi TTS (2008)? One of the sensors has gone and I don’t want to replace it until the next tyre change, but the warning light is annoying!

You have access to VCDS, so this should work:
1. Go into Address 17 (Instruments) 2. Go into Adaptation 3. Go to channel 061 4. Make a note of the current value e.g. 3843 I can't test this, but I'm hoping VCDS provides a yellow speech bubble with the associated values that you can add or subtract. 5. Subtract 512 from current value e.g. 3843-512=3331 6. Enter new value into field and click on the Test button 7. If it accepts that, click on Save 8. Exit out of VCDS. Start car and check if light off. |
Thanks Sean, I’ll give that a try. Happy New Year!

Well, it was a little different, for example the TPMS has its own channel in instruments and the current value was more than 4 digits. But I followed the instructions, subtracting 512, and the new value was accepted. But the warning lights still come on, unfortunately. i don’t suppose there’s a fuse that I could pull is there?

Well that's a nuisance, as those instructions were supposed to be for a 2008 TT!
I've found another suggestion, but first things first, did you reset that value you changed? Can you also tell me what the current coding value is for the TPMS, and provide a screenshot if possible? I'm also assuming that when you went into the coding screen, it didn't provide the yellow speech bubble with associated values? EDIT: One more question. Can you go into Address 19 (CAN Gateway) and then the Installation list, and tell me the Address for the TPMS, as there are two possibilities? |
Thanks Sean. I’ll get to this ASAP, weather permitting

Answered by email as it’s easier to do on my PC. Curiously, since resetting the original value, the fault code has disappeared. I’ll update later after I’ve been out.
