Audi DVB-T Tuner.....
5 Attachment(s)
Wow.
I confess, for a bit of 'puter geek its hard to believe that I've never before today tried out any of this broadcast digital malarky. Sky has been my source of TV at home and i've not needed to give it a second thought. Buying a DVB-T hybrid tuner for the car was, well, OTT really, but it sounded good so added it to my to-do pile  Anyway, I finally got round to fitting it at the weekend, although I didnt really get much joy in terms of digital channels, mainly I guess because I live in an area of bad reception at the best of times, and I didnt really know how the tuner was supposed to work. Anyway, drove down to Brum today and stopped off at Donnington Park services, thought I'd check in and see if it was doing anything. Oh yes, it most certainly was +++ Here is a list of channels, lots and lots and lots of channels: http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1273703210 and some guy on the telly commenting (rather negitively) about Cameron coming into power: http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1273703210 Electronic program guide - So you can see whats on and whats coming: http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1273703210 and it does all the DAB radio stations too, which is another new thing to me... http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1273703210 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1273703210 The quality is a giant leap above the normal tuners. Firstly, the stereo high quality sound hits you on the TV programs, rather than the tinny mono stuff on the analog, and then the quality of the picture is just stunning. No fuzz (obviously, as its digital)... But wow, I'm impressed..... I've got an annoying alternator whine which I need to deal with to make it useable on the move (radio etc) but otherwise, pretty chuffed that ther aerials etc are all working fine. My reversing camera has crapped out though as the NTSC camera seems to be not 100% to the liking of the new tuner, and PAL doesnt work either so I'll need to figure that out I guess, but the digi tuner is here to stay.... ... any one want to buy an analog one ? :D |
You never cease to amaze me... good work.

Hi Ian,
Can I ask what DVB-T unit you purchased? There are so many, I too want to replace mt analogue tuner, have the RNS-E from my A6 to fit first though. Thanks |
Do you need RNS-E for this mod?
