-03 S8 driver seat memory funktions only from one key
The problem is, that the drivers seat memory is working from only one key. When entering with the other key, my wife has to press the memory button on the door. I this unknown to all, or is there good ideas to fix it?

I'm pretty sure if you read the owners handbook it tells you how to assign the keys to the buttons - When it comes from the factory, the main two keys should be assigned to 1 and 2, but its a user accessible feature to assign them elsewhere....
|
I have tried to assign the 2nd key to button 2, when doing that I can hear a sound somewhere in drivers footwell, like with key no1, but the 2nd just does not work...

Just to be awkward.....
I managed to assign 3 keys to 3 positions regarding seat/ mirrors column etc, but only 1 will start my S8, and then if the other one manages to start the car, the original will not, my 3rd key (*bay cheapie) is kept just to open the car in an emergency as nothing could get that to work, even with matching part numbers.the main dealer is unable to make 2 keys work, at least I got to keep the new (working) ignition key ........ any ideas? Thanks, Richard. |
The immobiliser is built into the end of the flip key, and is completely and utterly seperate to the alarm/central locking bit which is the 3 buttons with the battery in.....
Unless you have the login code for your Immobiliser, then its a main dealer job to get keys to start the car. Only the central locking can be done 'DIY'.... |
