Headlamp Logic - I'm confused
 

I have an A8L D3 '08.

It's got Xenons as Factory fit.

I happended to be coming towards a big shop window so put the lights on Main Beam and only the outer ones undipped/stayed on.

Is that a double filament bulb in there?

The Inner pair only seem to come on as 'daylight running' lights - it's not got the LEDs.

I'm confused.... can anyone explain the system as ElsaWin is not clear either :Confused:

I had a closer look on t'internet and read up on Bi-Xenons so now I know part of it.

Should I assume the Main Beam bit is a Halogen as Xenons do not like getting used in headlamp flash mode?

Did you get to the bottom of this sloss, as I'm also confused.

My main beam appears to be the Xenon, as well as my dipped beam??

You mean the ones that appear to reflect to the side of the car? You'll see what they do at night :)

But only if you're reversing or going round corners slowly.... ;)

mine dont come on when reversing only when i corner, i have the Led day lights on mine not sure if that makes a difference, corner lights are good for junctions ect, i think the main and dipped beam come out of the same projector housing, bi xenon but dipped and main come on together when selected out of one projector not two separate ones like the D2

They also come on when you put the indicator on approaching a junction.

I want it to be dark now :p
