Do you agree?

Am I the only person to be really bothered by the thought of sharing the roads with other drivers who are watching TV on the move?

The other day, sitting in a really great Chinese restaurant, with my beloved opposite and my back to a big TV screen It was amazing how magnetic this was to everyone facing it. It's a big restaurant and there were a lot of glazed eyes

Even my dashing looks and witty conversation were not enough to stop my lucky wife's eyes from being continually dragged to that flipping TV.

You can do a hell of a lot more damage with a moving car than you can with a pair of chop sticks (unless you're Lucy Liu of course)

Yep... Although I turned it on in mine (takes 5 mins if you have VCDS), if I put the TV on, I need to close the screen as it's too much of a temptation to watch it and you cover a lot of ground at motorway speeds every second.

Quite agree. I think it is absolutely insane that anyone would want to have 'tv on the move'. Even more distracting than using a mobile while driving, and I am utterly intolerant of that as well.:tuttut:

Don't want to cause an argument....

Totally agree, it goes off at 7mph in the UK for a good reason (and anything above 0mph in Australia).

I dont disagree with the 'tv in motion' mod, where it is used to get in-motion access to some sort of menu driven external device, eg maybe you have an MP3 player with video out which shows you track names etc you are listening to, nothing more distracting with that than the normal audio - But watching Tv/DVD whilst on the move, total no no in my books....

I would agree that watching TV and attempting to drive a vehicle at the same time is particularly stupid....

I could say the same about loud stereos too....... one of my creations literally prevented me from binocular focus at anything over one third volume..... however, the bass was of exceptionally fine quality even though it was not built for SPL.

Have been considering refitting it in my 8, but considerably attenuated!
(1kW & 3x JL Audio 12W6) The box would be 'lost' in that boot....

theres nothing i love more than slipping the cruise control on, putting my feet up and having a good channel hop :p

tbh the tv is pretty useless when driving ive only ever had it on in motion when the gf wanted to watch something

when is there anything worth watch on 1-5 anyway? :D

It was you then that claimed in america for damages against Winnebago when they put their winnie into "autopilot" whilst driving on the motorway and then went to the back to make a cup of tea whilst the vehicle "piloted itself"

See Item 7!!

Im with Mkoneman on this one, It doesnt work particularly well and ive only ever used it when my girlfriend wants to watch something on her Ipod.

The reason i did the mod is because i have run an apple composite TV lead into my TV tuner, this allows me to listen to the music from my phone / ipod. When playing music the screen is completely blank with a blank screen on the head unit - but it was iritating not being able to go about 7mph and was making journeys take quite some time. This lead has the added bonus that you can put on music videos or films from your ipod / iphone, but ive never used this on the move, and if i did, it would be for my passengers.
