Hot air from the side vents only
 

Center console seems to work as intended but I can only get slightly cooler air from the sides with the AC on "low". I have a Vagcom and dont see any Air Vent Flap errors (no errors on HVAC at all).

Is this a symptom of a faulty heater valve?

Car year, model ?

I seem to recall a factory boo boo at somepoint where some things got put in backwards...

Has it always done it ?

mines doing exactly this, but my compressor is also whining slightly at low revs.
I had it regased in december and that fixed it until one day in janury when it seems to have ditched a load of its gas again.

It blows kind of cool somtimes, but most of the time the side vents are warm. Im confused as to why I can get cool air from the middle one.

I suspect you probably, like me, have low gas. I guess theres a leak somwhere, but god knows how you work out where!

I got mine regassed, de-gassed, then gassed with the Halfords bottle (long story). The guage on the DIY AC Charger is now just tipping "Yellow" (ie start of "too high - gas full"). Very possible its not working correctly... but again, why cold air from centre vents?

I can see the revs dip with ECON on and off, so the compressor is doing something.

i have the same issue aswel as the air only blows properly when the recirculate is on otherwise i hear the fan working but dont get much air coming through . i think it has to do with the flaps not opening correctly.i havnt had enough time to have a good look at it
