Budget...

Well, fuel duty drop was a welcomed surprise, and business miles going upto 45p / mile is a nice bonus..

Looks like the W12 just took a small shuffle up my list of priorities.. :D

every little helps I suppose, just wondering what I can squander the extra £1 a week I will now save on duty, anybody got any suggestions?

You could donate it to the 'bomb and trash other countries' fund

Yeah, and tonight's ITV news reckoned that 1p off a litre saves you £3 on a £70 tankful. How does that work then, if petrol is 133p/litre?

No sign of £400 tax either, still capped at band K.

All we're going to do is put up the price of fuel supplied ex the refinery.

A few pence on a litre won't take long to recover that £2bn plus some more for the bother it's caused :tuttut:

We needed to see a drop of about 25p Tax on a litre to make any difference - no chance of that :(

I'm with Sloss on that point

I think its cumulative, so drop 1p on duty, then you drop 20% VAT as well on top of that and well, not really sure how it mounts up...

but, they said 1p fuel duty rise was going to take it up about 4p, so we'd expect a 1p cut to take it down about that much ?

Anyway, its going the right way for me so thats all good... +++

I thought the 1p cut bought it down 1p... but they also binned the 'fuel duty esculator' which was supposed to take it up 5p. So we are effectively 6p better off, but only 1p cheaper than iwas.
