I know what I am doing on my long weekend
Discovered I have the contents of two Olympic sized swimming pools in each front footwell, amazing how much water collects in that foam underlay stuff, so its a weekend of probing, proding, blowing, squirting and probably getting wet for me then:(

oh doh :(

Had this issue in my passenger side and it turned out to be my sunroof drain which had become detatched, not the usual air con drains.
Good Luck. |
there's a lot of water gets soaked into those mats as well... be prepared for some serious work.

I ve been meaning to do this job for a while now....well since i owned the car....problem is could never quite work out from the pics how to get to the cowl drains.....didnt like the idea of filling the plenum chamber with water.....is it possible to clear those drains from below with a plumber's metal spring based pipe cleaner thingy ?????? |

got any mates with car-friendly sized compressors you can borrow? One of the benefits of my hobby is EVERYONE has a compressor in their garage/shed/workshop for cleaning stuff! A little far for me to drop mine off though :(
It is much easier with a compressor without too much grunt - too much and you risk dislodging pipes on a lot of cars. I had dodgy sunroof drains, but a happy side effect of pressure washing my car, including a good soaking with an under chassis angled attachment , was that it seemed to unclog whatever was stopping the water getting out. |
Dont have Adrian, going to give it a try with what I have to hand, various pumps, canned gas, even a flexi spring drain unblocker thingy, wifes tongue is usually pretty sharp too:) also think it was Simon here that recently had success with using water on the scuttle drains too so might try that too, if all that fails I will probably hire a compressor, main problem I have at the moment is trying to get the 90 degree angle on the copper pipe without tools or plumber skills:mad:
