Very cool - check how many cars left on the road
http://howmanyleft.co.uk/
Was posted on SRS earlier - the data looks correct, based on what I know on the subject (which is quite a lot given where I 'work') and where the data originates from. Interestingly the vast majority of D2 S8s ever registered are still on the system as either taxed or SORN'd, which is highly unusual - most registrations fall off a cliff as the cars get uneconomic to repair compared to value +++ Adrian |
Cool! +++ Added to Sticky.

So out of 6,905 D2 Audi S8 models shipped into the UK, only 547 remain? Is that correct. Would have been 548 had mine not be stolen. :mad:

your total figures are a tad wrong Amar!
this is the number that were licensed each year not new registrations so as a rough guide you can take the number of each year from the next year to see approx how many registrations there have been since the last amount. From 97 - 2002 this comes to only 674 S8 cars registered for D2's during that period, so even rarer than it looks! |

Each figure is a quarterly snapshot of the total registrations, so as suggested the difference from 1 quarter to the next is a mix of new registrations/write-offs/exports when the car was new, now it's obviously a slow decline in numbers due to economics or accidents. I've got some of these figures from work in the past for my BX 16V (which is properly rare too) where there's only 56 licensed and 78 on SORN (incl mine!) so recognised the format and layout of data |
Ooooh I stumbled across a GTI 4x4 the other week. Obviously off road but...
How rare are we talking then??:Confused: |

They have a potentially fragile transfer box and a bespoke exhaust - either will make the car an economic write off to repair! Mint low miles 4x4 worth less than £2k My 16v is a 'phase 1' with same body kit as a diesel! They sold quite a few but the pipes weren't protected against corrosion until later so very few left http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18.../BX/bx3005.jpg |
