DIS 'Brakes'
 

I'm getting the brake 'caution' DIS message regularly these days. The one that looks like an old 'drum' brake.

Usually after travelling over 'less than smooth' road surface.

I've checked the pads for 'meat' and they have plenty left.

What can cause this?

It could be a faulty pad wear indicator circuit. The system works on 'open' circuit when the pad is worn down low. If there is a loose connector or break in the circuit then the light comes on.
