Better then OEM control arms for the D2
I've been looking into an OEM or better then OEM kit for the A8. So I thought I would share my findings. It only needs one control arm but I thought it was better to do the whole lot at once rather then bit by bit as it fails (which is a pain).
Now I've seen the eBay kits for £189.00 but this thread was enough to put me off. http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a4-s4-f...l-arm-kit.html So I spoke to allgermancarparts.co.uk and have decided to go for the Meyle Heavy duty kit at £450, a heck of a lot more pricey, but you get what you pay for. Which is quality hopefully as these are built to be better then OEM spec and come with a four year warranty. So this is what you get. 8 Improved Upper and Lower Front Control Arms with Installed Bushings and Ball Joints 2 Improved Drivers and Passengers Side Front Track Rod Ends 2 Drivers and Passengers Side Front Anti Roll Bar Links I know the 20" final edition wheels put more strain on these parts so the heavy duty ones should serve the A8 well. Anyone used Meyle HD arms before, thoughts? & James, whenever your ready to fit them buddy. +++ (ignore the *'s they don't signify anything, dunno where/how they have apperared) |
Botang used this kit I believe and he was very pleased with it. I used a Febi Bilstein kit for my PF S8 which was about £80 cheaper but no TREs and no bolts.

Hopefully he will see the thread and post his thoughts. Did the Febi Bilstein make a big difference on yours Mike? Bilstein make the OEM shock absorbers for BMW and their coilover kits are the most expensive/best rated so I'm sure they are very good quality.
