Insurance Quote

My number 1 son is currently looking for a car and insurance having just reached the ripe old age of 17, for a laugh he tried getting a quote for my S8 with me as a named driver, what a result............. £24k fully comp and........ £12k 3rd Party Fire and Theft, not bad for a 9 year old car:) worth bugger all:ROFL:

OMG lol the words print, licence to, and money come to mind!!

I suppose he could possibly drive it into some very expensive stuff, lets say through the front doors of Glasgow Audi for example, then £24k would not be that bad:p

it's only 3 times what he'll potentially be paying to insure a Corsa or similar mini-coffin TPFT - almost strikes me as good vfm all things considered PMSL

I believe round these parts the going rate is £4k for TPFT on a supermini for a 17 year old......

LOL stop encouraging the youth of today to drive recklessly . . .
surely you mean drive into the front of a BM* showroom!! :D

Blimey!

And I was upset with £390 last week!

Glad I'm not 17 (well, for that reason at least!)

Neighbours of ours got their 17 yo son a 'pay as you go' policy on the mother's Focus.

I don't know all the details but you nominate when you need the cover to let him learn on the road and they cover that time.

No night driving to begin with, no mates on board and a few other things like that.

You take 3 months or whatever up front and specify the days/weeks etc., etc.

Worth a look...... Aberdeen is in the cheapest area for car ins though :p

If you want and can't find details let me know and I'll ask them for more info +++

Stew,

Thanks Stew, we have found an Insurer that seems to specialise in learner/young drivers and the quotes we have are not too bad, also means he accrues NCB as well, just need to find the car now
