Mine sailed through the last couple of years. This year after all the suspension work I have renewed and 2 new rear tyres on the big boys I thought "oh I'll get the MOT updated while its getting the rear tyres. . . and it failed dammit lol.
1 x Front CV boot split and a nasty gash on the inner edge of one of the front tyres (uhh they were both practically new!) So about £250 ish later we are all ok again here too, just poorer lol *sigh*

I've been pretty lucky I suppose, I've just put mine through its 3rd MOT in my ownership, and it sailed through again, I've not had advisories at any time either, so I'm very pleased with my '8', not the prettiest or highest specced, but good and reliable :)

Not to mention 'fun'

Mine passed last year with out any probs. But found the garage doing something a little naughty using my car on the emissions testing machine for another blokes clappered out E class:tuttut:
This year it needs a new windscreen washer pump and a CV boot, she is 14 after all;)

I really must make more of an effort to keep a car long enough to experience one of these MOT things.... ;)

mine's going in next Saturday - fingers crossed the ABS sensor behaves itself long enough for them to get it in and out of the workshop and do the tapley meter test.....
