Claying the 8

Just spent 4 hrs claying the 8 and adding a nice layer of collinite ahead of the autumn and winter weather. Christ, does it make you remember how big these barges are :p

Is it wrong to walk out your house constantly and rub your hands along the bodywork 'cause it feels so nice to touch?!

Lol! ... Only if you cuddle it after you're done!

Brian - Collinite is a great durable wax that's perfect for protecting you paint coming up to winter +++

I use Victoria Red on mine now - link below

I find it gives great long term protection and a brilliant shine
for the wheels I'm using Chemical Guys Wheel Guard

I had my old car done - the paintwork was great, and I didn't think it could get any better. After the guy finished, I couldn't believe the difference. I used a detailer for mine, he started at 08:30, and finished at 19:45. So, a whole day, my car was pampered to hell!

I'm getting my S8 done, but only after I've had my lowers colour coded. Never understood why Audi chose to have that nasty expanse of black below the bumpers, and the rocker panels.

Need to learn how to clay. Wanted to prepare for winter too.

I regularly use good pressure washer (Kranzle 160tst profi), but have no fine skills in detailing.

Need to read somewhere about full lifecycle of cleaning car properly. And need access to right cleaning materials. I think what they sell is Halfords is not the best stuff.

Looking good Oli !

Hey Neil - I've read good things about Victoria red. The Collinite is still going to last me years so it will be a while before I change :)

Notorious - have a browse at www.detailingworld.co.uk to learn about detailing...be warned, you can spend hrs looking at the picture threads! ;)

Looking shiny mate!

"I think what they sell is Halfords is not the best stuff."

some of the stuff from Halfords can be OK, particularly if you can get the 3 for 2 deals they sometimes do, I use the Meguiars stuff and just after I bought it I could have got it for a tenner less with their 3 for 2 deal, Megs gives pretty good results but its hard work doing it by hand.

They also do Autoglym which gets good reviews too, though never used it myself

Oli your car looks fantastic!!

And yours too Neil!!
