Not sure.. have you checked the disk is clean and not scratched?

Where abouts are you - someone close might come and disc swap to help identify the problem. I had a copied disc that eventually gave up and anothe forum member confirmed that was the problem by exchanging discs between our two cars

im located in warrington, cheshire.
i have an origonal disc (1999) and a copied disc (2005) if i go into setting and input destination manually , it will work . but if i do it from main screen or try and store destination , it crashes and reboots.
both discs do the same .
i was going to try and download a 2007 copy then try that. problem is i cant find one . i dont want to buy one incase the same thing happens.
is there anyway i can reset the unit ?

forgot to mention , i got a feeling the unit is a RNS-C not RNS-D . software says 1998 .the unit is square shaped , not tapered like others i've seen .
seems funny because the car is 1999

If the unit is square, and not tapered that means you have a prefacelift car and it must be an RNS-C unit.

The RNS-C is a waste of effort to get working anyway as they're unsupported and horrendously slow. The disc they run is a Travelpilot (not the DX version) - Its the same as used in some Fiats I think. Ebay for it, I recall I bought a Fiat disc once for a Preface D2....

The good news is though that the double din square facia you have in your car is worth mega bux as they are rare as hens teeth and many preface owners would pay a premium for one +++
