Brembo brakes

Hi

Wheres the best (cheapest) place to get front discs and pads for an early D2 FL S8?

Audi quote £80 +vat for the discs.

I see Europarts have Pagid stuff for sale, but it's dearer.

Any ideas?

Try Murray's Direct - I checked recently and Brembo discs for mine were £57.20+VAT, pads were Bosch or OE from memory at £36.58+VAT

Used them before for Passat and A6 brakes and their stuff is always good quality.

Just to add some info for anyone else who'se interested.

Adrians' prices are correct to the penny.

Murray has told me that the pads are by Bosch and the discs are made by Brembo.

Also, the pad wear sensors are incorporated.

Considering that I've seen the discs (aftermarket quality ie 'Pagid'- which is now a trade name owned by Euro car parts) for £134 +vat each, and pads for £120 +vat a set, Murray seems to have some very competitive prices.

I'll check back once the parts are on.

Hi Simon,

Just fitted exactly the same parts on my FL S8,Have to say no problems at all, went on a dream.

I was a bit sceptical with Bosch pads, but all seems fine,no squeeling etc.+++

Wait till the discs turn up - I was amazed how heavy the Brembo discs were for my A6,which sit under 17" rims! Lord knows how heavy these must be :D

Thought I'd get prices for the S8 parts (and availability!) before I recommended them lol

I've ordered a set of rear discs and pads too, as mine are well down and I'm changing a rear caliper anyway.

Set of rear pads was £15 or so, the rear discs £18 or so each.

This guy is very reasonable, price wise. :)

You're right again. I picked up a box with a front disc in.

The damn thing was so heavy that it slid out the edge of the sealed box and damn near landed on my tootsies, which it would have nargled for sure!

Never seen discs where someone went to the trouble of painting the centres and edges either. +++
