ABS Kicking in Early
Hi Guys,
I previously had this problem - http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1758 - I have swapped both for new sensors and things were running fine for a while. However the juddering when stopping has kicked back in and it is a pain. I tried cleaning the sensors. No joy or slight worse. Are there sensors on the rear or does anyone have any other clues. I'm currently running with one unplugged, which kicks out the traction control and everything, but it brakes better!!! Ta, Lee |
Yes there are sensors at the rear as well or it could be dirty ABS rings or maybe new sensors have failed. Need to plug in VCDS, check fault codes and check measuring blocks for wheel speed sensors for each wheel at slow speed to see which sensor is offending and go from there.

Nothing on VCDS in terms of an error code....Checking the wheel blocks could be an idea though. Any idea how you clean the rings or replace the sensors on the rear. I doubt a new sensor would go in 6-12 months ???

Check your wheel bearings too... Mine was throwing all manner of faults related to an ABS sensor which turned out to be the bearing.
