So, for the time being get to know her and i'd lurve to see the A380 go by - That must be a sight..... Wonder how many near misses that causes on the west section of the M25

Well Ian, It is sight. I've been to Farnborough for the last two airshows and it's been there both times. It's amazing machine!!!

While I was fixing my seatbelt today (see post) I took a couple of snaps for your viewing pleasure. Sorry about the detail though, my camera was set to low-res!!

I also found this: http://www.aviationexplorer.com/a380_facts.htm

Its an awsome beast, you can see it realy low near farnham royal wher my sis lives. Used to work for the company that did the nose landing gear I'll try and dig some pics out later.

I didn't think much too it when it landed next to me when I was on the perimiter road. I think because it is still in proportion you don't tend to notice it. I still like the boeings best they look more purposeful somehow.

I know what you mean Tony I have a soft spot for the 747-400M just looks special. I suppose if Airbus had designed the "look" to be different (which of course they wouldn't due to costs etc) ,then some people would have had more to moan about; this way they can get IRRC 850 cattle class seats in and try to blend it into the rest of the fleet.

Both these aircraft are dwarfed by the Antonov AN-225

You guys sound like you should be in the spotters section with your parka's and open-toed saddles (with socks), notebooks and Kodac Instamatics!

Been on it - and bloody hell its big inside..

IT 6th March 2009 01:28 PM

Flown? Or just had a nosey.....

I remember thinking a 747 was big inside....

Wish I'd not taken the 747 to NY now and gone on concorde instead - You always kinda think ther'll be time to do that another day <doh>

Architex_mA8tey 6th March 2009 01:32 PM

I went on Concorde to Singapore many years ago
Geez now thats given my age away ;)
I have to say I think I prefer luxury any day over speed
it was nice but not sooper dooper modern first class nice +++
The only memory I have of it now is my Concorde luggage tags! :D

Flown - GP last year - probably on that exact one thinking about it as it was with that mob. Didn't know if it was scary that the thing is in the air, or a technical wonder of modern times. Can you imagine the fallout when one drops out of the sky one day..

Remember going on concorde as a kid on a visit to Heathrow. Friends Dad was co-pilot/engineer on it.. aahh happy days.
(this is such a spotters forum!! :-) )

I've been on several concordes now they are grounded

Just never flown on one....

And I know its not first class by todays standards, and I know its small, cramped and doesnt have TV, but we're all performance freaks on here, so the idea of doing mach II, and/or having breakfast twice in once day, rocks... :D
