Wanted: Roof bars for 2009 A8.
 

Hi,

as per title, I have bought an A8 3.0TDI Sport, and need a set of roofbars for fitting ski and bike racks at various times. Apparently Thule do not list parts, so needs to be genuine Audi I assume.

Not cheap, but betting they're cheaper than the Audi option! They take Thule designed t track bike racks and roof boxes

As you've found Thule do not list bars for the D3, however the 'genuine' Audi ones are manufactured by Thule.

I couldn't find a set from a pattern supplier so ended up buying genuine, my set and have Thule stamped on them so they must be made under exclusive licence for Audi.

I managed to get mine from eBay but the list price is over £200.

Might be worth calling a dealer and trying to blag discount.

I can get them for appx £180 ish from Audi-thats where I ended up buying mine.

VERY sturdy though... especially as I cut mine in half purely to fit a taxi roof light... some clever dick decided to build the A8 out of Aluminium pmsl!!!

We have a set of Genuine Roof Bars just in, look almost unused.
