Iridium plugs

Are the denso vk20 iridium tough plugs the best plugs you can buy ? I want to change my plugs ( all 12 of them) and as i know its not going to be an easy job then i would like to get the best i can. Does anybody know any better plugs or longer lasting plugs ? +++

Darren, i would buy OEM plugs from dealer.

I'm sure Audi uses best and longest lasting plugs for your engine. Don't risk.

AFAIK you will have to remove engine head to do that. Perhaps you'll need a gasket from dealer anyway.

Manufacturers does not always use best stuff. They use what is good enough and not too expensive as they need to think about end product price to be competitive. Many manufacturers do use Iridium plugs as standard.

Iridium is the best and longest lasting as far as I know. LPG variation is supposed to be even tougher but not sure how suitable for petrol cars.

As for the make I normally go for NGK or Denso.

Agree on LPG ones.

Before I switched to gasoil, I always used NGK as the threads seem to be of a very high quality compared with other makes. This was pointed out to me by a mechanic who said pinch the threads and rotate the plug of an NGK and a Champion. The champion almost cut my fingers and felt sharp and rough like it had been cut with a die compared to the perfectly smooth and comfortable NGK.
This is due the way the threads are made...
